Best Cafes for Digital Nomads to Work in Taipei

“Is there wifi here?” Yep. I hate to be that person, but as a digital nomad, travel is work and work is travel. Aside from the food and culture, I always research beforehand if the café that I’m going to has good internet connection and is conducive to work in. If you’re looking for cafés to work in Taipei, or you’re simply after recommendations for nice cafés to chill at with some cuppa, here are my five favourite cafés in the capital city of Taiwan.

NOTE: Make sure you check their website or Google page for opening times because it depends on their public holidays as well. All 5 cafés mentioned below have wifi and power sockets! 🔌

1. The Aussie Café

Koala foam art is so cute!

Address: No. 33, Lane 115, Section 2, Zhongshan North Road, Zhongshan District, Taipei City, 104
Food and drinks: Food here is quite pricey and I found it to be average. I would recommend just ordering coffee. Also, the coffee comes with cute koala and kangaroo art!
Vibe: Cozy but it can get quite loud during busy times. They have a bunk bed as a seat for large groups, how cute!

2. Takeaway

Love the presentation

Address: No. 2-1, Lane 213, Zhongzheng Road, Shilin District, Taipei City, 111
Food and drinks: If you’re planning to have your coffee here, be aware that they require each person to purchase a drink. They don’t serve food here. I would definitely recommend their matcha latte and sesame latte.
Vibe: Really cute. I love their pops of Japanese deco throughout the small space and their own coffee roasting machine right by the entrance. This place is situated in a small alley, hidden away from the main road so make sure you locate it on your phone’s GPS beforehand.

3. Central Park Café

Of course I had to take a picture with Mr. Hugsy!

Address: No. 3, Lane 240, Section 3, Luosifu Road, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, 100
Food and drinks: I didn’t have the food but they have a variety of food like sandwiches and pizza available and they’re themed according to the characters! As for the coffee, I recommend the ‘Ice Brick Coffee’. It’s milk with espresso frozen into ice cubes. Yum!
Vibe: Am I a huge Friends fan? Yes. So am I biased? Yes. But is this still a cool place to work at? Absolutely. It’s usually quite quiet and if you’re a Friends fan (why wouldn’t you be?) the café is not exactly the exact replica but the vibe is still there! Gunther behind counter not included.

4. Louisa Coffee

Address: They have branches all across Taipei
Food and drinks: They serve small snacks such as bagels and cakes. Coffee was good, sometimes depending on the branch.
Vibe: Minimalist and clean. If you’re tired of Starbucks and you want convenience, give Louisa Coffee a try. They’re everywhere and they always have good wifi and sockets.

5. Coffee and Couple

Doesn’t this remind you of whisky glasses?

Website: https://www.facebook.com/coffeeandcouple/
Address:
No. 10, Lane 404, Wenlin Road, Shilin District, Taipei City, 111
Food and drinks: Coffee was good and it’s served in a short square glass that made me feel like I’m drinking whisky. They also have pastries and donuts if you want a snack. If you’re planning to work here, bear in mind they have a 2-hour limit and each person is required to buy a drink.
Vibe: We stumbled upon this cafe because of the cute name and the quirky café design. The coffee bar is downstairs but it serves only as a takeaway bar. Seatings are upstairs and the decor reminded me of the hipster cafés in Australia.

So there you have it! 5 cozy cafés for you guys to work, study and chill at, especially during a stormy day. If you like café or food recommendations like this, check out my other foodie adventures and guides. Have a wonderful day!
